The activities of the project aimed at training individuals with disabilities on using inclusive digital services to be more productive and get more opportunities. The observatory can contribute to the well-being of beneficiaries in various ways. These contributions include providing access to valuable information and resources, developing skills and capabilities, promoting empowerment and inclusion, facilitating networking and collaboration, and improving data accuracy and representation. By equipping beneficiaries with knowledge and skills related to the digital observatory, the project can enhance their overall well-being and empower them to actively participate in decision-making processes and advocacy efforts.
Training approach.
A team of 8Tech staff and NUDIPU gave a brief background about the project, its aims and objectives.
The training started by understanding what assistive technologies are, and why persons with disabilities need these technologies, then a practical demonstration was done on how to use these assistive technologies. What is social media and how can persons with disabilities leverage of the use of social media to air out their challenges and opportunities, we then looked and safety online and concluded the training with a session on what the National Digital Observatory is and how to use it.
